Biografia
Artur Gil is the current Vice-Rector (Vice-Dean) for "Science, Innovation, and Knowledge Transfer" at the University of the Azores (Portugal). He is a Biophysical Engineer and holds an MSc in Spatial Planning and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences. His research line used to be focused on the development of geospatial applications, products, and indicators able to support decision-making on Land Management and Spatial Planning in oceanic islands. He published more than 60 articles in SCI and SCOPUS-indexed peer-reviewed scientific journals with about 700 scientists from many different countries and with diverse scientific backgrounds. He was awarded several highly competitive fellowships. He already was or currently is a member of several nationally and internationally-funded R&D projects (e.g. Horizon Europe, H2020, FP7, PCT-MAC, and COST actions).
