Service Provision Description:
The general objectives of the LIFE -SNAILS -IBIS project are: 1) Provide scientific consultancy (planning, methodology, data collection and analysis, decision-making support) in the area of biology and conservation of insects and other terrestrial arthropods, namely in the D2 actions of the LIFE SNAILS project (LIFE20 NAT/PT/ 001377); 2) Supply and install 11 SLAM traps (Sea, Land and Air Malaise trap) (Fig. 1) in areas to be selected by the LIFE SNAILS team; 3) Provide historical data, through the available literature review, on the distribution and abundance of arthropod species on the island of Santa Maria that contribute to the consistency and transparency of the evaluation of the results of concrete actions for nature conservation within the scope of the LIFE SNAILS project ( LIFE20 NAT/PT/001377); 4) Submit several Technical Reports with quantification of the Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) value for each sampled location. This project takes place at the request of the Regional Government of the Azores, and the client entity is the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change.
