Service Provision Description:

The present provision of services aims to hold IOBC and IUCN meetings, aimed at scientists and professionals working with exotic biological control agents and to carry out the IUCN Red List.

These events aim to: 1) evaluate the characteristics of exotic natural enemies that are considered successful biological and biological control agents that later become invasive alien species, 2 ) to highlight areas of research that require attention and develop strategies to support priority research, 3) Ongoing development of guidelines on assessing the environmental benefits and risks of releasing exotic biological control agents to increase decision-making cogency over classic biological control, 4) provide an introduction to the use of the IUCN Red List categories and criteria, and 5) provide a forum for discussion of examples of best practices to address the key conservation issues included in the Ladybird Expert Group proposal.
