Service Provision Description:
The present provision of services for the 2017-2020 quadrennium and designated as PICONIA, has as its starting point the results obtained in the projects entitled: “Use of biological control agents for the combating aphid populations in endemic plants produced in nurseries (PICA and PICA II). These projects began in 2013, with exploratory fieldwork in forest nurseries in Furnas and Nordeste. These projects aimed to: i) know the composition and dynamics of aphid communities, ii) identify potential biological auxiliaries associated with aphid communities, iii) study the suitability of aphids as a food resource for biological auxiliaries, iv) produce in mass and apply biological auxiliaries on the infested plants and v) inventory, control and monitoring of Lepidoptera.
