Project Description:
Azorean vascular flora comprises about 1000 taxa, and 74 are endemic. The conservation of unique species and habitats is important, however, many aspects regarding the species survival and evolution remain unknown.
The endangered Azorina vidalii and Lotus azoricus have to withstand considerable levels of disturbance. With this research proposal, our aim is to aid on the definition of effective conservation strategies for these species, leading to the publication of several scientific papers.
