Monitoring Maritime Agitation

The University of the Azores coordinates and guarantees the operation and maintenance of the wave buoy network of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (RAA) at the service of the project, whose wave stations are identified with the following World Meteorological Organization (WMO) codes: Graciosa: 6202400; Third: 6202401; Thin tip: 6202402; Flowers: 6202403; Vegetable garden: 6202404

In this area, throughout the project, daily operations were carried out to validate and maintain the RAA's maritime agitation network databases for the calibration and validation of numerical models, as well as physical equipment maintenance operations. Some of the operations took place as part of routine maintenance tasks, others as part of emergency interventions. The maintenance operations of the waveform stations are supported by the logistics and staff of the partner of Portos dos Açores, S.A.
