The Foundation's bodies are: the General Council, the Board of Directors and the Statutory Auditor.
The General Council is composed by the President Susana da Conceição Miranda Silva Mira Leal and by the members Suzana Nunes Caldeira, Francisco Cipriano da Cunha Martins, Adolfo Fernando da Fonte Fialho and Artur José Freire Gil vice-rectors, Alfredo Emílio Silveira de Borba, representative of the presidents of the teaching and research organic units, Paulo Vieira Borges, representative of the directors of the research and development units, Vasco Manuel Verdasca da Silva Garcia, 3rd rector of the University of the Azores (UAc), Avelino Freitas Meneses, 4th rector of the UAc, and Avelino de Freitas Meneses, vice-chancellor of the University of the Azores (UAc). The single auditor is appointed by the General Council in accordance with Article 10(2)(h) of the Statutes of the FGF and is appointed by the General Council in accordance with Article 10(2)(h) of the Statutes of the UAC, Jorge Manuel Rosa de Medeiros, 5th Rector of the UAC, João Luís Roque Baptista Gaspar, 6th Rector of the UAc, António Bensaúde de Castro Freire, Roberto de Sousa Rocha Amaral and João Paulo Alvão Serra de Medeiros Constância.
The sole auditor is appointed by the General Council upon proposal of the Rector of the University of the Azores, from among chartered accountants or firms of chartered accountants. It is currently represented by the Chartered Accountants Company UHY & Associados, SROC, Lda., in the person of Manuel Luís Fernandes Branco.
By extraordinary resolution of the General Council, dated January 26, 2023, and on the basis of a reasoned proposal by the Rector of the University of the Azores and President of the General Council of the FGF (Professor Susana da Conceição Miranda Silva Mira Leal), Dr. José Noronha Rodrigues was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors, as Chairman, Doctor Vítor Manuel da Costa Gonçalves, as member and Master Carla Cristina Soares Ramalho, as member with executive functions, subsequently elected as Vice-President, at the meeting of the Directive Council on February 27th, 2023, date on which this extraordinary deliberation took effect.
