Service Provision Description:

The study entitled “CATL AS CONTEXTS FOR PROMOTING DEVELOPMENT AND FACILITATION OF SCHOOL SUCCESS” has the general objective of understanding whether the attendance of a CATL makes a difference in terms of development and facilitating children's school success.

More specifically, it is intended to analyze whether there are differences between children who attend and do not attend CATL in terms of: social skills, aptitudes for school learning, school performance, potential creativity and problematic behaviors.

In order to explore the hypothesis that children enrolled in CATL and those who do not attend may present different levels of development and academic achievement, two groups of children residing on the island of São Miguel: one for children enrolled in CATL and the other for children who are not enrolled in them. Groups will be matched for key variables: age, gender, grade level, grade level.
