Main Objectives:
- Reflect and debate on the relationship between academic research and its dissemination through audiovisual media for different audiences; - Develop skills for teachers, researchers and students in the field of audiovisual communication and visual research methodologies; - Articulate theoretical and practical knowledge through participation in workshops; - Continue the scientific activities carried out within the scope of CICOM Açores 2022 – Communication Sciences Congress, this time focusing on audiovisual communication; - Strengthen ties with participants from other institutions and envision future research projects.
Project Description:
Seeking to continue the scientific activities carried out within the scope of CICOM Açores 2022 – Communication Sciences Congress (https://noticias.uac.pt/cicom-acores-2022-congresso-de-ciencias-da-comunicacao), and considering the importance of communication through different media and languages, this meeting seeks, on the one hand, to promote the development of skills in the scope of audiovisual communication and visual research methodologies, on the other, to promote debate among teachers, researchers and students on the relationship between cinema and scientific research, particularly in the area of social and human sciences. Therefore, the proposed program includes two sessions of a predominantly practical nature. Workshop I will be attended by Ricardo Morais, Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Information Sciences at the University of Porto, with extensive experience in teaching subjects related to audiovisual communication. Workshop II will be guided by Isabel Macedo, Assistant Researcher at the Center for Communication and Society Studies at the University of Minho, for an approach to the relationship between audiovisual production and research, considering different analysis methodologies. The meeting will also include a conference with director Amaya Sumpsi, PhD in Anthropology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Amaya Sumpsi has developed different works on the Azores, including the documentary Entre Ilhas (2022) which resulted from an anthropological investigation carried out in the archipelago.
