Project Description:
The MeTis project is co-financed by FEDER, through the Direção Regional do Planeamento e Fundos Estruturais 2030 Program in 85% and in 15% by RAA through the Direção Regional da Ciência, Inovação e Desenvolvimento, through the PRO-SCIENTIA Incentive System.
The project aims to implement cutting-edge methodologies for monitoring current and new biotoxins in water bodies, taking into account the increasing occurrence of cyanobacteria and harmful microalgae blooms. This project will result in the creation of SOPs for monitoring toxins in lagoons and coastal areas for recreational use using metabarcoding, HPLC and remote sensing, optimized and adapted to the needs of the Azores.
