Main Objectives:
1. Develop inclusive tourism products: Create accessible experiences for everyone, allowing the biodiversity of the Azores to be experienced in a sustainable and inclusive way, with a focus on accessibility, integrating the principles of Universal design. In this way, it is possible to guarantee universal accessibility in the experiences offered, using devices and resources that meet different physical and functional limitations, promoting the inclusion of everyone.
2. Promote the conservation and monitoring of biodiversity: Inventory, based on innovative technologies, select, using participatory methods and implement marine and terrestrial biodiversity observation routes/spots (BioMUSTs). Once operational, these pilot sites will allow monitoring by experts, using accredited protocols, and by the visiting community, using various citizen science tools.
3. Support the local economy through sustainable tourism: Increase the tourist offer, attract visitors and generate jobs and revenue for the region, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensuring that the Azores position itself as a reference for accessibility among Smart Tourist Destinations (STI).
4. Environmental education and awareness: Provide educational opportunities at various levels, including university courses and environmental education activities for the community and visitors, promoting scientific literacy.
