Project Description:
The LigFish project is co-financed by FEDER, through the Direção Regional do Planeamento e Fundos Estruturais under the Azores 2030 Program in 85% and in 15% by RAA through the Regional Direção Regional da Ciência, Inovação e Desenvolvimento, through the PRO-SCIENTIA Incentive System.
The project develops an innovative ligand fishing methodology to isolate bioactive compounds from natural extracts, using matrices functionalized with target enzymes. With applications ranging from cosmeceuticals to pharmaceuticals, the project focuses on increasing the efficiency, specificity and scalability in the purification of natural compounds with high biological potential, promoting their sustainable use in various industries.
