Project Description:
The AlgaeFusion project is co-financed by FEDER, through the Direção Regional do Planeamento e Fundos Estruturais under the Azores 2030 Program in 85% and in 15% by RAA through the Direção Regional da Ciência, Inovação e Desenvolvimento, through the PRO-SCIENTIA Incentive System.
Biorefineries allow the valorization of all its products, reducing costs and stimulating industrial production. The project aims to develop a microalgae/cyanobacteria biorefinery using strains native to the Azores, to enrich animal feed with nutraceutical properties and/or develop cosmeceutical products, valuing production surpluses and supporting a strong, resilient, sustainable and circular economy.
