Project Description:
Priority 1 - Promote sustainable fishing and the restoration and conservation of aquatic biological resources
The project will develop rigorous assessments of the main demersal and pelagic stocks of the Azores evaluated by ICES — blackspot seabream, albacore, emperor fish, horse mackerel, and ray — integrating historical monitoring and fishing data collected under the EU Data Collection Framework. Using advanced assessment models, population dynamics, fishing impacts, and management projections will be analyzed, supporting scientific advice, stock recovery, SDG 14.4.1, and Descriptor 3 of the MSFD.
