Main Objectives:
Development of a platform focused on the extraction and use of renewable biomass that promotes the related industrial sector, focused on a circular biotechnological model that seeks to minimize pollution and maximize the use of renewable energy.
The objective is to consolidate an Atlantean platform for processing and posting native biomass, broad and versatile, which seeks to obtain extracts from the use of natural resources, transforming them into a high-value final product and revaluing available waste.
There will be institutions from different regions that will provide you with techniques and methodologies. This objective will be the protection and preservation of natural resources, restoration, conservation, improvement and support for ecosystems related to agriculture and aquaculture, seeking the long-term sustainability of the project and the conservation of the identity of the environmental/cultural and industrial heritage.
Determination, optimization and validation of techniques and methods for extracting mature compounds from native biomass, under a traceability framework.
Aims at the study and development of new extractive techniques that allow the satisfactory obtaining of high-value compounds, through their integration and industrial valorization.
Project Description:
The rich biodiversity that the Macaronesia region has is known. However, its economic, scientific and industrial use is limited by the lack of technical-scientific support that allows its viability and use, encouraging the disuse of the region's rich native resources, which have not found a way to overcome this problem.
NATUR-EXT was born as a solution to this problem, through the creation of a bio-industrial platform focused on the transformation of biological raw materials. This industrial need requires the option of biotechnological solutions that allow us to offer sustainable and respectful growth models. All this, within a circular economy framework that promotes the development of value chains in favor of optimal waste management, the resolution of problems, environmental issues, the recovery and use of soil, making use of EERR generation systems for self-consumption , forming a closed and sustainable cycle. The platform will cover the various stages that enable the viability of a product from its research on an experimental scale to its scaling and transfer to industry.
This objective requires showing the business sector the potential and need to move from a linear economy to a circular economy, involving training tasks. This training will be extended to third countries, allowing the advancement of a sector that goes beyond the borders of Macaronesia.
