Project Description:
The PIRATE project is co-financed by FEDER, through theDireção Regional do Planeamento e Fundos Estruturais within the scope of the Azores 2030 Program in 85% and in 15% by RAA through theDireção Regional da Ciência, Inovação e Desenvolvimento, through the PRO-SCIENTIA Incentive System.
PIRATE studies marine litter pollution in the Azores through advanced technologies, in situ data and predictive modeling. The project will develop innovative tools for monitoring marine litter and support data-driven decision-making. PIRATE promotes blue growth, sustainable management of marine resources and technological innovation (RIS3), positioning the Azores as a leader in conservation and sustainability.
